A nonprofit dedicated to the preservation of traditional oldtime string music, dance and folk culture in Jackson and West Tennessee.

The Jackson Area Plectral Society was established in 1989 as a Tennessee State and Federal tax exempt charter for the preservation of Oldtime Music and became the catalyst for many oldtime jams throughout the area. Since that time we have tried to record and preserve our oldtime musicians through bios, videos, photos, etc. to preserve a history of our musical heritage.
Recently the original web-server became inactive and we’re moving to a new website I hope will be bigger and better than before. I’m in the process of moving all the records over and look forward to adding more in the future.
