🎉 Big news from Art in the Village!

We're thrilled to share that our own Chris and Anna Holmes were recently featured on the official Bob Ross Podcast!

For many artists, Bob Ross was the person who first showed us that painting could be joyful, approachable, and filled with possibility. Having Chris and Anna featured on a podcast connected to that legacy is a wonderful honor, and we're excited to celebrate it with them.

📺 Watch the episode here:

If you're out and about today, stop by the gallery from 10-2 and congratulate Anna in person—she'll be staffing the gallery and would love to visit with you about the podcast, her artwork, and her artistic journey.

Have you ever painted along with Bob Ross or been inspired by his message that "everyone can paint"? We'd love to hear about it in the comments. 🎨🌲

🌸 See? We weren’t kidding when we said Linda McBride’s pieces are flying off the wall!

This radiant magnolia is one of her large, luminous, and full of Southern elegance pieces — and it just sold to a very lucky collector.

Linda’s watercolor work is beloved for its softness, detail, and that quiet emotional pull — whether it’s a cardinal in winter or a bloom in full glory like this one.

✨ If you’ve been waiting for a statement piece that feels both refined and soulful, this might be your moment.

🍲 Not Just for Display

When a bowl is this beautiful, it’s tempting to keep it on a shelf. But Jennifer Hatch designs her work to be used—every day.

This wheel-thrown stoneware bowl is perfect for small servings—think warm soup, a side of rice or roasted vegetables, or even your favorite dip for a dinner party. The glaze shifts from matte to gloss in soft, earthy tones, adding quiet richness to any table setting.

Thinking about adding handmade ceramics to your kitchen?
Here are 3 easy ways to start:

1. Choose versatile sizes — A medium bowl like this works for snacks, sides, or small meals.

2. Mix with your everyday dishes — Handmade doesn’t have to match. It adds soul and texture to any table.

3. Store in sight — Keep your favorite pieces within reach. They’re meant to be part of your rhythm, not hidden away.

Jennifer’s stoneware pieces are food-safe, dishwasher-safe, and meant to last.
Available now at Art in the Village.

🏺 More Than Clay

Every handmade pottery piece has a story.

Before that finished mug, bowl, or vase reaches your home, it goes through testing, shaping, texturing, drying, bisque firing, cleaning, glazing, and a final firing in the kiln.

Hours of work. Patience. Skill. A little bit of trust in the process.

That's the beauty of handmade. No shortcuts. No two pieces exactly alike.

The next time you hold a handcrafted pottery piece, you'll know just how much went into creating it. ❤️

June Artist of the Month: Jennifer Hatch

Some artists fall in love with color. Others are drawn to form.

For Jennifer, it's the carving.

Every carved line, opening, and texture is created by hand, transforming clay into pieces that are both functional and sculptural. From her intricate lanterns that cast beautiful patterns of light across a room to her detailed carved pottery and custom tile work, Jennifer's pieces invite you to slow down and appreciate the artistry in everyday objects.

What Jennifer loves most is the challenge of carving designs that reveal something unexpected—whether it's light dancing through a lantern or a pattern that emerges from the surface of a bowl or tumbler.

This month, we're celebrating Jennifer and her remarkable collection of handmade pottery.

Stop by Art in the Village and see her work in person. Photos are beautiful, but the details, textures, and craftsmanship are something you have to experience for yourself.
