These are my 4 teen students, and I am prouder than ever of them. At our spring recital last night, I witnessed authenticity, smart choices, and habitual good technique from these young singers. Their hard work is paying off, and I am honored to be a part of their lives. These 4 students all sing musical theater, as well as commercial music. (Some short video clips are on insta)

I want to say thank you to Brennan White for making this song come to life, from most musicality aspects to coaching a vocal coach. And to Katie Boles and Kameron Russell for putting a few thoughts into words where I was hitting a wall. And to Tatum Henry for giving me some of your fire vocals. And to everyone else that is or has been a part of my life: this song is about people we’ve asked “I wonder why” about, when really we could just accept people for who they are. We all have unanswered I Wonder Why’s.

This is brand new for me, but I wrote a song and recorded it. I never thought songwriting was for me, but this came about very organically. This song came from a conversation I had where someone made a side comment about someone, saying “well, you wonder why…”, as if to say, “well look at them, it’s no wonder they’re the way they are.” What made me upset about that conversation is the thought that I would engage in something negative and judgmental about someone, when we’re all just products of our past scars and experiences. So, I wrote about my past scars and experiences in this song, and I hope you enjoy it.

The whole song will be on streaming platforms March 20th. Also- FB and IG screw up audio quality, sorry.
