EVERYBODY CUT 👟💃🏻👠 🚘

We are SO EXCITED to announce our 2027 Spring Musical… Footloose!!!!!!

09/10/2026

LAST HINT!

Shows we are NOT doing.

Here’s why:

GREAT SHOW, NOT A GREAT FIT:

For whatever reason, *this year* these shows were not the right fit. Maybe the set, costumes, SFX, puppets or other aspects are too complex, or it’s too similar to last year’s genre of show. There are not enough roles or not the right type of roles. Maybe we simply couldn’t get the rights. Maybe the vocals are too demanding or the music is hard. These are the shows we know the kids (and we!) would love to do but we didn’t choose this year.

Here are a some musicals we love but didn’t choose because they aren’t suitable for High School.

Hint # 1
Shows we are NOT doing.

Here’s why:

LICENSING.
DID YOU KNOW?

To perform a musical or play in any capacity with an audience, you need to request, secure, and purchase the rights to the license. This requires lots of paperwork and lots of time (and lots of money)! It is also not guaranteed.

Not all titles are available for licensing! For example, Wicked has been running on Broadway for 22 years so the rights are not available for amateur licensing. If you are following along, we will be announcing musicals that we are NOT doing this year, and some of the reasons why.

Here are a few shows that are unavailable for licensing at this time:

SURPRISE! It’s time to announce our Musical!🥳🎶

We are going to tell the kids this year by sharing what the musical is NOT. The students can stop by our bulletin board over the next few school days for some hints as we eliminate shows and teach them a little bit about theatre!

If you’d like to follow along, we will be posting on here after school each day as well.

Who’s ready?! 👏🏼
