Today was open studio for 18 artists in Ithaca, from 12-5 PM. Many artists gave demonstrations as they welcomed visitors. One of the sites I visited was Artist Alley located in the /siuth Hil Business Campus across from Ithaca College. OA cyanotype workshops drew a lot of visitors and was provided by Ithaca Dark room. Artist Pan Drix had a show in rhe gallery. The following are some photos from some of the studios

Open Studios: Meet the Artists Where They Work
As part of the Seeing Ithaca celebration, 18 participating artists will open their studios on August 29th, 12-5 PM to the public, offering visitors an opportunity to see where and how artwork is made. The website Seeingithaca.org has all the information needed for the artists and how to find them. The website (seeingithaca.org) has the details for locations.
Seeing Ithaca is really about the many ways a place becomes meaningful to us. There is the Ithaca we see in the landscape, but there is also the Ithaca we carry with usβ€”the places we remember, the people we encounter, the communities we create and the experiences that shape our sense of home. We wanted this exhibition to make room for all those ways of seeing.

State of the Art Gallery (SOAG) invites you to visit the gallery for a special program called β€œArt in Bloom”, August 21-23. Members of the Ithaca Garden Club will have chosen their favorite piece of art in the gallery this month and then designed an arrangement reflecting the essence of the art. Each arrangement will be placed on a pedestal in front of their chosen art. This show is very popular with artists, designers, and the public.

SOAG is located at 120 West State Street and is open Thursday-Sunday, 12-5. The photo shown here is an example of one arrangement/piece of art exhibited a previous year.
