VOLUNTEERS NEEDED for Swingin' on Cayuga! Coming right up on Sunday, September 13th, this year's event will be larger than before, with TWO sets of dance classes happening at the same time: in the Large and Small Pavilions at Stewart Park! This means we need even more help to make this happen. Schedule: FREE CLASSES at 2 Pavilions for twice the fun!
LARGE PAVILION Classes (wood floor)
12 Swing Dance Cool Moves
12:45 Lindy Hop Intro
1:45 West Coast Swing Cool Moves

SMALL PAVILION Classes (cement floor)
12 West Coast Swing Line Dance
12:45 West Coast Swing Intro
1:45 Charleston Intro

2:30 Picnic bring something to share, some food provided
3:15 Swing Dance Intro class

4:30-6:30pm DANCE with live music by the Diana Leigh Quartet!
5:30-ish Dance demos at the band break!
($15 donation requested for the dance)

Peter Kaufman dancing in the stars
And probably eating ice cream. The link to his obit is below. Sadly he has left us, but it's hard to imagine he is not having fun elsewhere. For those of you who had the pleasure of knowing Peter and Kathe when they lived here in Ithaca and were such a sweet part of our dance scene, I'm sure, like me you have plenty of fun, funny and silly memories.

Many details are still being worked out, but here's what we know so far:

What:
- All afternoon : multiple dance classes in TWO locations! (large and small pavilions). Classes are FREE!

- Evening dance : live music from the Diana Leigh Quartet! $15 donation requested for the dance.

When:
Sunday Sept 13, noon to 6:30 pm!

Where:
Stewart Park, Ithaca NY

Why:
For the love of swing dancing!

We had a great time last Wednesday for the fun Swing & Hustle dance party! And now that it's "Summertime, and the livin' is easy," we'll be on hiatus until September, when we come back with new dance classes and our most popular annual event, Swingin' on Cayuga!
