Hey Kuumba People!
Rachel Wagner, Prof. of Philosophy and Religion, is coordinating a visit by Nigerian feminist playwright, Osita Ezenwanebe to Ithaca College, and she is interested in finding people willing to do a small performance/reading of Osita's play next week and has extended the invitation to Kuumba. Here is some information about the event date/time/location and about our visitor:
Thursday, November 10, 8 pm, Taughannock Falls Room (performance and discussion): Osita Ezenwanebe (Nigeria), Fulbright Scholar.
Dr. Osita Ezenwanebe has written and produced six plays out of which five are published. She has over twenty-two papers in local and international journals, the latest being "Treading Subtly on Hazardous Ground" which deals with the dramatization of the Niger Delta crisis in Nigeria and is one of the latest publication of the International Federation of Theatre Research (IFTR) by Radopi, 2011. Her research interests include feminism and Nigerian theater; conflict resolution and stage performance; and the representation of women in African literature and drama. She is married with five children, four of whom are in college.
If you think you would be interested and available, shoot me an e-mail ASAP , so that I can get a tally to relay to Proff. Wagner. It should not be a big time commitment, but I'm sure it will be a rewarding experience.
