The Hangar Theatre Wedge Four directors are given major fellowships from the Drama League and are hosted by the Hangar for the summer to create exciting, cutting edge theater.

The Wedge is a space created by the Hangar Theatre in 1983 for new artists to explore innovative and cutting-edge theater. Each year, four directors are given major fellowships from the Drama League in New York City and are hosted by the Hangar for the summer to create exciting theatrical work for the Ithaca community. In association with the Hangar’s artistic staff, the Drama League Fellows create, plan, and execute the summer Wedge season, direct KIDDSTUFF productions on the mainstage, and teach and serve as the artistic leaders of the Hangar’s Lab Company of young actors, directors, and choreographers.
