The Amoeba may have eaten his brain, nevertheless Greg Schatz's inimitable style and humor has been delighting audiences in his native New Orleans (and on the road) for more than 25 years. Check out this sweet video warning regarding amoebas below. Greg will join us in studio today at 5pm ahead of his show at Maxie's Supper Club and Oyster Bar on Sunday (12/29). He'll play a few tunes and we'll hang out and generally conversate. Greg Schatz with Max Buckholtz and Michael Wellen.

Then, in the second half of the program we'll speak with Jeff Cohen about "The Corporate Coup d'Etat" coming up at Cinemapolis Tuesday, November November 19.

The movie examines how we “arrived at Trump." It travels to the "sacrifice zones" of Camden NJ and Youngstown OH to reveal the effects corporations have have had on US democracy. The film interviews union workers in Ohio who’d voted for Obama and Bernie Sanders . . . and then flipped to Trump.

Renown singer-songwriter Diane Cluck is coming to Ithaca; we'll catch up with her TODAY Off the Couch on WRFI. Cluck was significant part of New York City's "anti-folk" scene in the early 2000s. Her work is idiosyncratic while remaining utterly unaffected. She will be at the Sacred Root Kava Lounge & Tea Bar with Polly Wood on Sunday night (9/29) and then lead a songwriting workshop on Monday at Toko Imports.

Also on the show will be veteran old-time and blues performer and storyteller Scott Ainslie. He'll bring his unique performance to the The Canaan Institute in Brooktondale Saturday, October 5.

Tune in on WRFI Community Radio Friday (9/27) at 5pm and join the conversation.
