Artistic Director Rachel Hockett says:

“Thank you, Ithaca, for your warm and inspiring response to Arthur’s play, Mother in a Box. You made us so glad we did this show. Liz, your choreo was sweet, sparkly, and so fitting for the characters. Matt, thank you for your creativity and commitment, converting the wonderful space at The Cherry Arts into a musty old attic. Christine, unparalleled production stage manager, thank you for keeping tabs on every tiny detail and calling the show so impeccably. And thank you, Greg, Kristin, and Jacob, for bringing humor, joy, and fierce dedication to every rehearsal and to your roles. Directing you in this little jewel has been an unalloyed pleasure.

“Homecoming Players of Ithaca will take a little break now, but we’ll be back before too long. My heart is full.”

“As Scott, Greg Bostwick nails this man’s conventional courtesy that poorly masks his promptness to brusque criticism…”

“Kristin Sad fully embodie[s] Joey…she earns our persistent attention…”

“Tolstoy claimed that each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way. But Bicknell has limned these three people with such authentic motivations and detail that inevitably some of their behaviors will appear very familiar.”

“So how will this father/son showdown possibly end? Bicknell makes sure that his conclusion is well earned.”
