Heartbreaking news 💔 Rest peacefully, Ms. Helen; it was a privilege to have known you. May your soul wander without restraint for all eternity, free from the limitations of this physical realm.

It is with an extremely heavy heart that I report the passing of my sweet angel of a mother Helen Margaret Walsh on the morning of April 27, 2024.

After a long, hard-fought battle with cancer, she passed quietly in her sleep. While we are extremely sad to lose the amazing light she shined upon our daily lives we are relieved to know she will be shining that special light from heaven, out of pain, amongst her loving parents and brothers.

A memorial service will be held in her honor on May 19, 2024 from 5-8 pm at OB Davis Funeral Home in Miller Place. 1001 NY-25A

I know how loved my mother was by everyone that came to that shop. Everyday you remind me when you come there. And I know how much my mom loved allll of you. So so much. More than youll ever know. So please come and join us for a celebration of a beautiful life, well spent and with so much heart.

Some encouraging words for my students, and anyone else who may need to hear them:

If you can take even one step towards your dream, then you’ve demonstrated that it’s possible for you to make progress. And if it’s possible for you to take one step, then it’s possible for you to take two, and three, and even four.

If you want something bad enough, you’ll find a way to make it so. Nothing will get in your way- not even your own self doubt.

Nobody who has reached the top of the mountain gave up. The thrill of walking the path that many have dreamt of but so few have taken, the exhilaration of conquering that seemingly insurmountable goal… those things overpowered any question of surrender. They kept going, even when it felt like they were making no progress. Even when they fell down along the way. THEY GOT UP. THEY KEPT GOING.

Anyone can do what another human has done. You just have to be willing to make the necessary sacrifices to reach that goal.
