🎡 DAY 5: SURVIVED! TODAY WE TAKE ON DAY 6! 😂

Yesterday was another good one! I finally got to finish painting my lure 🎨🎣, talked to even more people about Create-A-Lure, and—most importantly—continued my very serious State Fair food research.

🌭 Pronto Pup acquired. Because corn dogs are fine… but Pronto Pups are what corn dogs wish they could be. 😂
🧀 Nachos acquired because apparently I believe vegetables are optional during the fair.

🎯 SIDE QUEST UPDATE: Still accepting recommendations for things I absolutely *need* to eat, drink, find, or buy before these 12 days are over. Clearly I can be influenced. 😂

Onto DAY 6! We’re officially halfway there… which feels both exciting and mildly concerning. 🤣🎡

🎡 DAY 4: SURVIVED. TODAY WE TAKE ON DAY 5!😂

First things first: PARKING WAS A SUCCESS. 🙌

Apparently the secret is for a certain *nameless employee* to leave home TWO HOURS before they actually need to be there. 🤦‍♀️😂

The downside? Extra time at the fair.

The upside? Extra time at the fair. 😏🍹🍴

So naturally, there may have been some additional food and drink “research” conducted. For science, obviously.

It was HOT. It was HUMID. I ran into some friends, talked to lots of customers, and got to see even more pictures of the lures people have painted AND the fish they’ve caught with them—which seriously never gets old. ❤️🎣

And because apparently spending all day surrounded by Create-A-Lure isn’t enough… I ended the evening painting my own lures. 😂🎨🎣

Four days down. Today is DAY 5!

At this point I’m fueled by fair food, caffeine, customer stories, and the sheer determination to NEVER HAVE ANOTHER PARKING INCIDENT. 🤣🎡

🎡🎣 DAY 3: COMPLETE! TODAY WE TAKE ON DAY 4! 🎣🎡

Three days down and we are STILL having a blast!

Yesterday brought lots more conversations with customers, but one was especially fun — we talked to someone who told us he caught a MASSIVE northern on one of our lures! 🎣🙌

Apparently it worked well enough because he promptly turned around and bought another kit. 😂

⭐ We consider that a pretty solid product review.

Of course, we also continued our very important mission of eating our way through the fair.

Day 3's research included:

🍓 Strawberry Mojito Cider
🥩 Bull Bites
🤠 Deep Fried Ranch
🍔 An Uncrustable Burger

We're doing this for you, really. It's practically community service at this point. 😂

And then there was parking…

One of the five employees working yesterday — *we won't name names* 👀 — experienced yet ANOTHER parking situation.

Was it me?

Maybe.

Was it not me?

Also maybe.

The important thing is everyone eventually made it to the booth AND, miraculously, made it home without incident. 😂👏

DAY 3: SURVIVED. ✅

Now it's time for DAY 4! 🎡🎣

And if you see the unnamed employee who definitely doesn't have a developing feud with State Fair parking…

No you didn't. 😂

🎡🎣 GOOD MORNING FROM DAY 3! 🎣🎡

Day 2 is officially behind us, and apparently yesterday had a very strong “FEED THE BOOTH WORKERS” theme. 😂

We started the day with cookies at 8AM 🍪 because State Fair breakfast rules are apparently different from regular-life breakfast rules.

Then family showed up with an egg roll delivery 🥡❤️ — proving once again that the quickest way to our hearts is bringing food directly to the booth.

And the infamous Pickle Lemonade Cider? 🥒🍋

STILL. WAITING. 👀

The side quest remains ACTIVE.

But the best part of Day 2 was getting to talk with so many families, meeting new people, and sharing Create-A-Lure with kids and parents. 🎣❤️ Watching people discover what we do — and seeing kids get excited about creating their own fishing lures — makes these long fair days completely worth it.

And now…

🎡 IT'S DAY 3! 🎡

Two days down. Ten to go.

We're rested-ish.
We're caffeinated-ish.
We're definitely accepting food deliveries. 😂

And we're ready for another day of meeting all of you!

🎡 STATE FAIR: DAY 2 🎡

Day 1 was AMAZING! 🎣

We talked to SO many people — including a bunch who stopped and said things like:

“WE HAVE ONE OF THESE!”
“My kids loved this!”
“We bought one last year!”

And honestly… hearing that in the wild is pretty freaking cool. 🥹❤️

But that was yesterday.

Today we have a new mission.

🥒🍋 PICKLE. LEMONADE. CIDER. 🍋🥒

We have questions.

Why does it exist?
Who approved this?
Is it pickle juice? Is it lemonade? Is it cider?
WHAT ARE THE RULES HERE?!

Unfortunately, we are trapped in the lower level of the Grandstand surrounded by fishing lures and cannot abandon our post to investigate.

SO.

🚨 WE NEED A VOLUNTEER. 🚨

Someone needs to locate this questionable beverage and BRING. IT. TO. US.

We will drink it.

We will judge it.

We will probably regret it.

But most importantly…

WE WILL DO IT FOR SCIENCE.🧪🥒

Day 2 of 12 and we’re already asking strangers to bring us pickle beverages.

Things are going GREAT. 😂

I maintain that whoever delivers it deserves some sort of honorary booth-employee status. 😂

🎡🎣 DAY 1: RELEASE THE LURES! 🎣🎡

The boxes are packed. The booth is ready. The caffeine is questionable. 😂

And after all the planning, packing, stacking, shrink-wrapping, lifting, counting…and MORE lifting… WE MADE IT!

Today is officially DAY ONE at the State Fair! 🙌

Come find Create-A-Lure in the Lower Level of the Grandstand - Row 7 - and see what all those boxes we’ve been working on were for!

12 days. Thousands of boxes. One very tired crew. 😂

🐾 Happy National Dog Day to our favorite four-legged family member... Porkchop! 🖤🤎

Every family has that one member who keeps life interesting—and for us, that's Porkchop. Whether he's supervising projects, begging for treats, insisting he's a lap dog, or greeting everyone like they've been gone for years, he brings smiles to our home every single day.

His loyalty, goofy personality, and giant heart remind us why dogs truly are our best friends.

Today we're celebrating the slobbery kisses, muddy paw prints, endless tail (or nub) wags, and unconditional love that make dogs so special.

❤️ Happy National Dog Day to Porkchop—and to all the amazing pups out there who make life a little brighter every day!

🚨🎡 TWO DAYS. WE REPEAT… TWO DAYS. 🎡🚨

At this point, the Create-A-Lure boxes have officially realized where they’re going and they’re trying to escape. 😂🎣

Our current pre-fair checklist:
✅ Pack boxes
✅ Stack boxes
✅ Count boxes
✅ Question the count and count them again
✅ Load boxes
✅ Drink an irresponsible amount of caffeine
✅ Pray nothing falls over
⬜ Maintain sanity

That last one isn’t looking promising. 🤣

In just 2 DAYS, these boxes will be unleashed at the State Fair!

🍹🎡 Okay, we settled the fair FOOD question… now let’s talk DRINKS. 🎡🍺

The State Fair has seriously decided that plain beverages are boring. 😂

This year we’ve got everything from:

Yes. PICKLE. LEMONADE. CIDER. 😳😂

So here are the rules:

Forget rides. Forget shopping. Forget everything else.
