Introducing Zoey Jubilee, the newest quilter here at Sew Knot Fancy! She’s 1 week old today, and we are absolutely head over heels in love.

I’m having a rough recovery physically, so really focusing strictly on that right now. I have some photos to post, and will hopefully be more active here in a few weeks…. But right now I’m just trying to recover, and concentrating on breastfeeding (all by babies have had oral restrictions, so the first few weeks can be very rough).

I can’t wait to share more with you (including her baby quilts!) once we both have recovered more.

As if my 2x a week Midwife/MfM/NST appointments weren’t enough… or my kiddos 2x a week chiropractor appointments (that I can never manage to sync fully with my appointments). My ten year old decided to start May off with a bang (or perhaps, a yeet, as she keeps telling people she yeeted herself off the scooter) and fracture her radius. Now my formally free Monday will be spent calling insurance & orthopedic doctors to try and get her in. 🤪

I’m trying hard to get a few more quilts out before this baby comes, but life has not been super helpful this week or this past month.

My little 4th generation eastern KY quilter finished her first quilt! Brennan was a 32w preemie, who we call our miracle baby. My water broke with her at 15w, I bled pretty much from that point until I had her (including a 10 day hospital stay for a HUGE bleed). I had a subchorrionic hemorrhage that caused all the bleeding and my membrane rupture. Thankfully I was able to regenerate fluid and keep her in! She came into this world in the middle of the night on April 24th, and only needed a 12 daY NICU stay.

I’m so proud of her and all she’s accomplished in these 10 years, and I love that she’s got the quilting bug. ❤️

My (almost, her birthday is in a week!) 10yo quilting out her first quilt. She’s had it pieced for over a year, but a weekend at Mamaw’s house means she’s getting it quilted today! I love her chewing that gum while she concentrates. 🤣 I think her hearts look better than mine.

This one was fun! Made for a local Mastiff rescue, using BurlapBlossom patterns. I quilted it in a loop meander with paw...

This one was fun! Made for a local Mastiff rescue, using BurlapBlossom patterns. I quilted it in a loop meander with paw prints included in the quilting. I hope it raises a lot of money for the charity!! Don’t tell my dogs, but mastiffs are secretly my favorites. ❤️

I finished this queen size tshirt quilt this week! This was made for my cousin, out of all of his marching band shirts from high school! Set up in light mottled grey, green at the corners, and a darker grey border. I carried that border over to the backing as well. I love how it turned out! We’d been talking about this quilt for several years, so I’m so happy it worked out!

Quilter problems…. Getting in the car for a grocery pick up and finding yourself covered in thread.

I am VERY SLOWLY working through orders. This last week I was at a total of 5 different doctor appointments (and at one of those all
five kids were seen, at another one I ended up seeing three different providers). So I only have 1-3 days per week to work in my studio. I’m higher risk this pregnancy (thanks geriatric pregnancy and gestational diabetes) which will probably look like little Sis getting a lot more monitoring in the months to come. Just a heads up! But, as you can see from my clothes, I am indeed working!

I finished this local order this week! My client only had 2 shirts and a pair of slacks, but we made it work! I set it up in pinks sashes, a solid teal corner squares, and a dark purple petal flow for the border. I quilted it in an all over meander, with white thread.

I love working on local orders. ❤️
