Went out to the coast tonight and it was clear at sunset. So I got some photos of the Comet C/2023 A3
This is a rough processing of 200 10s exposures. I am not strong on comet processing and I have some good data now, so I will try to get it better.

Here is a version of Orion from the other night with the stars removed. The program did a pretty good job removing all but the brightest stars.

At the end of the day, it is just a hobby. With inclement and weird weather in California this year coupled with the tragic loss of two of my family members in the span of 8 months, it was good to get back out and shoot some last night.

This is my yearly Orion photo as it is coming up earlier in the night as winter approaches. This is 244 15 second exposures stacked and processed in Photoshop.

I was able to get some scope time this weekend and put another 90 minutes on the Trifid Nebula. This is two sessions separated by a year. Total integration time about 3 hours and ranges from 60 second subs to 15 second subs. About 300 subs total. I choose to remove the stars from this object as I think it looks better this way.

The marine layer collapsed last night and the clouds parted for a few hours. I managed to get 4 hours of uninterrupted data of this target, which is called LDN900. It is a nebulosity and dark nebula in the milky way cluster.
