This has a salvage operation neck and body. The neck was a new build where the maker's CNC made a couple of goofs and was not nearly completed. I said that I would take it rather than seeing it go to a fireplace. No frets... The body is made from another tortured slab of Elm from my backyard tree that I had to do a lot of filling and stabilizing. It really was a test for me and very therapeutic bringing this thing to excellent health! Body was free-hand crafted. No CNC. Headstock was also free-handed to utilize the tuning machines I had in stock. I am going to get a black bass string tree to more properly align the A and D string spacing and get a straight pull off of the nut. The tuning machines really dictated the creative positioning. Volume pot is CTS push-pull for coil tap to the north coil. Sounds REALLY good!! Has more of the ergonomic reach of a 34" scale which players should feel very comfortable and "familiar" to most bass players. This was a genuine labor of love! Come and see and play it at the Buffalo Bills Alumni Association concert with 30 more Hand Crafted RockBeach Guitars and Basses for you to try on! Be prepared to BUY!! Cheers!! Greg Bogoshian, Rockbeach Guitars.

Progress on the new 32" scale bass body. This one is all free hand. No CNC.

Here's the follow-on to the acoustic guitar rebuild... You can see the "braces" of the purchased from China by the customer's top were not exactly glued properly and one was split as well. The customer is going to do the finish, but with no finish on it, it actually sounds pretty darned good! After the photos were taken, I moved the trapese for better alignment, did a fret level, and cut the nut slots deeper. Plays good too!! Customer is picking it up tomorrow. Cheers, and Happy Easter!!

Disassembling and rebuilding an old, abandoned acoustic for a customer. Will be replacing the top entirely with one he bought online. Unfortunately, due to previous phone issues, I cannot show you what the back looked like originally (back was partially separated, warped and split like a Lays potato chip with most braces loose, broken, or off entirely and scratched to hell), but I can at least show you how I have rebuilt it with additional bracing for better projection and stability. I kept what is left of the top in place to retain some side rigidity and shape for when I put the restored back on again (another tricky maneuver to try and get it back to its original shape for gluing later). Here's progress to date. I am certainly not going to be making any money on this project. I just want to prove to myself that I can pull this off. Therapeutic for me while my wife is being treated for cancer...
