THE PLAYS:
Cored by Madalyn R. Lovejoy
Directed by Samuel Quinn Morris:
Lucy is an up-and-coming paranormal investigator touring Henrietta’s Haunted House in Ashere, Iowa. Initially unenthused by the house’s lack of spirits, she experiences the fright of her life when she and the other attendees make their way through the attraction. At first, it appears to be a gimmick, just a dreary home in the middle of nowhere. Soon, however, the haunted house turns her dreams of becoming a paranormal investigator into a nightmare when the group descends into the basement, where a ritualistic sacrifice must occur for the group to leave the home – alive. When a simple sacrifice goes wrong, who’s to blame for the fatal misfortune?
Felicity by Dylan Malloy:
As billionaires take off into space to colonize Mars, Will and June, two impoverished teenagers from a drought-stricken town, watch the rocket launch and reflect upon their lifelong friendship. June is devastated when she learns that Will is obsessed with the impossible hope of leaving Earth behind forever–and her along with it.
Branches by Brigid Martin
Directed by Jacy Fitzpatrick:
Lynn is a librarian. She loves her job, she's got problem-solving skills, she can find any book in her library. She is perfectly content with where she is in life. She likes helping people. She can tell you plenty of things about herself. Jasper, on the other hand, can tell you one: they're turning into a tree. With a little bit of magic and a whole lot of facts about trees, Branches is a story about finding a place to grow roots and being brave enough to stay.
