Farewell to Kalmia, welcome/congratulations to Lydia and Laura!

It is with great enthusiasm and pride that we share that our Program Director, Kalmia Strong, has accepted the role of Executive Director at Squeaky Wheel Film and Media Art Center in Buffalo, NY. Her last day at PS1 will be January 23. Of this change, she wrote “It’s impossible to fully articulate how meaningful being a part of PS1 has been for me, and I am so grateful for the support, trust, collaboration, and opportunities that have been a part of this time.” She also wants to note that she will remain a PS1 superfan forever and ever and you should too.

This change also marks the implementation of a new staffing structure better suited to the everyday work that happens across the PS1 campus. Key to this new structure is the promotion of current PS1 staff member, Lydia Diemer, to Artist Resource Director and the hiring of Laura Moser as PS1’s inaugural Community Stewardship Director. Both have years of experience at PS1 (as staff, independent contractors, and/or volunteers) and both roles will join Executive Director, John Engelbrecht, in a new shared leadership model (which will also include the hiring of a full-time Operations Director in spring of this year).

Read more about Lydia and Laura on our website - we are so excited and grateful to have them stepping into these roles!

Iowa City Poetry offers tons of amazing workshops -- here's the latest, starting Sunday!

Start the new year with intention. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the art (and a little of the business) of shaping a poetry manuscript. Together, we’ll trace narrative and thematic arcs, play with sectioning, experiment with hybrid book forms, and uncover the quiet power of a good tit...
