WARNING! EXTREME VIOLENCE AND JUMPSCARES ARE IN THIS MOVIE
We hope you enjoyed our first Film Friday! On Friday October 18th, we invite you back with Kantara! We’ll have a variety of snacks from popcorn to pani puri so grab your friends and join us to watch and discuss Kantara.
Kantara is a Kannada-Language film from India about a man named Shiva who, after a traumatic incident in his past, avoids Daivaradhane and his Bhoota Kola legacy. Now, he spends his days getting into fights and doing petty jobs for his landlord. However, when a new forest inspector infringes on the way Shiva and his people have been living, Shiva’s relationship with nature and those around him is tested.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you
are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation to participate in this
program, please contact Courtney Cooke in advance at [email protected].

Hello friends, Kayla here! Tomorrow is my last day as the Coordinator of the APACC, and I wanted to make one final post to say goodbye as I move onto my next chapter in UIUC!

This past APAHM theme was called “with love, APACC”, a love letter dedicated to all the small Asian businesses, AAPI student organizations, and all the people that support our cultural center. This theme is very close to my heart, as the APACC became my love letter to myself and the community. APACC and MISSE have been my home away from home during my undergrad, and I had the privilege of providing that home away from home to others here professionally these past 5 years!

This chapter would not have been possible without community. Thank you to all of MISSE for being resistant, innovative, and loving through it all. Thank you to all of the APACC teams who helped make this place a home. Thank you to alll of the attendees and all of the regulars who visit the APACC

💫 APAHM NIGHT MARKET 💫

Welcome back to APACC’s annual Night Market! On April 19th from 7-10PM, meet us at the APACC (223 Lucon Drive) for one of our iconic late night events! Students, community members, and student organizations will be tabling a variety of arts, crafts, and information, throughout the night! Come for music, food, and community!

This late-night program will be one during which students will be exposed to Asian Night Markets, a popular Asian cultural activity hosted in cities primarily in Asia but now throughout major cities in the world. The purpose of a night market is to boost the economy, allow leisurely strolling and eating, and gain exposure to different countries traditions through food and activities. Our night market will be hosted to allow organizations a chance to share their cultures through food, activities, and information.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa–sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires a reasonable accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Kayla Nguyen in advance at [email protected]
