On this day 10 years ago on July 30, 2016, West Virginia State University partnered with the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra to present the inaugural "Orchestra of the Hills" at Haddad Riverfront Park in Charleston, WV. Under the direction of Dr. Scott Woodard, this benefit concert raised donations to help support the music departments that were impacted by the flooding in June 2016, including Herbert Hoover High School in Kanawha County, Richwood High School in Nicholas County, and Greenbrier East High School in Greenbrier County.
