This custom Gold Record Award was created for City of Hope's All In for Hope Poker Tournament, an event dedicated to supporting one of the world's leading cancer research and treatment organizations. For more than a century, City of Hope has been at the forefront of developing lifesaving treatments, advancing innovative research, and providing compassionate care to patients and families facing cancer, diabetes, and other serious illnesses.

Every fundraiser, every donor, and every participant helps fuel breakthroughs that give patients more options, more time, and more hope.

Gold records hit different when they come with a story. Huge congratulations to Mike Glita and Senses Fail on receiving this RIAA Gold award for “Calling All Cars.”

What makes this record so special is how organically it came together. While the band was preparing to head into the studio, Mike felt like something was still missing. What followed was a true lightning-in-a-bottle moment. The song was born from the band simply jamming together in a room the old school way, and it ultimately became the first single from the album.

Years later, “Calling All Cars” continues to connect with fans around the world, proving that sometimes the most timeless songs happen when instinct takes over and there’s no time to overthink.

Today we mourn the loss of Robert “Rob Base” Ginyard, a true hip-hop pioneer whose music helped define an era. As one half of the legendary duo Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock, his impact on music and culture will live on forever through timeless classics like “It Takes Two” and “Joy and Pain.”

Rob Base helped bring hip-hop into the mainstream and created records that continue to move generations on dance floors, in movies, at sporting events, and in everyday life. His energy, charisma, and unmistakable voice became part of the soundtrack of the late ‘80s and beyond.

At Jewel Box Platinum, we understand how important it is to honor the artists whose work leaves a permanent mark on culture. Robert Ginyard’s legacy is one that will continue to inspire artists, fans, and the music industry for decades to come.

We send our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and everyone whose lives were touched by his music.
