Inglewood Theater Group is back with an explosive musical that is a MUST SEE PRODUCTION. Inspired by the music of legendary gospel artist & set in 2019-2020 Inglewood, “Why we Sing” is a story of redemption and triumph over negative influences facing a group of artists.

The show is happening at the and celebrating the 20 Year Anniversary of our founding Artistic Director: Brandon Rainey.

After finalizing auditions, the production team of realized that we are still in need of a few more characters to really pull this off. This is a special project that is going to speak to hundreds of people so want to pick the right crew. Please share with anyone you know who maybe interested. Although we will still be taking singers (onstage & pit singers) & dancers, we have some general characters available… here are some specific needs:

Ghost (the Antagonist): Leader of the local gang who has the town in fear. (Non-Singing)

Members of the local gang (non-singing)

Aiden- White young man who can sing.

X- Young black activist who changes his name to X. (Flexibility with being male or female)

Garland- Athlete who discovers that he has a gift to sing.

Campus Security Guard- Comic relief of the show.

Chris- Closeted gay student. (Character open to be male or female)

Brandie- Female student fighting to overcome being body shamed externally and internally.

PIT SINGERS- who can commit to once a week rehearsals.

Dancers & Models- Who can commit to once a week rehearsals.

**** It’s an 8 week process so the expectation is for a crew who can learn & work fast without needing a whole lot of rehearsals. There is already some amazing talent in the show & behind the scenes pulling it together. Our partnership with & is going to make this super special & next level. Ask us about our stipend program for the show if interested.

ACTORS! SONGWRITERS! DANCERS! FILMMAKERS! We teamed up with the City of Inglewood Government to provide VIRTUAL CLASSES FOR ONLY $10 A WEEK taught by real life QUALITY INDUSTRY teachers.

We exist to provide arts & film outlets for communities at RIDICULOUSLY low costs because the arts personally CHANGED MY LIFE & its a gift I want to FOREVER continue to give.

Thanks to City & Generous Donors this special for the next 3 weeks is happening but if we don’t get enough students we will lose this opportunity so PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD.

These classes will be taught via zoom by industry working teaching artists with surprise guest workshops from industry professionals. For Youth the $30 covers the entire 4 weeks.
