My full One Piece Fest review!
📍 Cosm Los Angeles
We attended the second day/ 3rd session (10am-2pm)
Overall, I thought the event was a lot of fun. The voice actor panel with Matthew David Rudd Brina Palencia and Ian Sinclair was awesome. Seeing so many One Piece fans in one place and the cosplays was really cool and just being able to share the love for this anime was really special. The event wrapped up with a concert from legendary singer and he sang a few of the intros including We Are!
What I wish was a little better about the event was communication. I had no idea you needed to make a reservation to watch the dome shows, so when we finally wanted to we couldn’t get an actual seat because it was fully booked for the remainder of the time of the event. We still watched it from the 3rd floor but the experience of sitting inside and watching I’m sure was a lot better.
The merch lines were insane and anything exclusive sold out immediately. We waited in line for the exclusive cup and it would have been great if tickets were passed out so we knew whether or not we were getting one. Not only did the exclusives sell out but by the time we got up to the line there were only two styles left. No limits were set either which was frustrating. It also was unclear how much of what was actually available since it’s a two event split between 4 sessions. We were told limits were set aside for certain things so nothing sold out on the first day/first session.
I also wish during media night some of the invited guests put a little more time and effort covering the details and things that would have been helpful to know. Nothing against those creators that were invited but just something I wish people put a little more effort into sharing—-some didn’t even know it was a two day event and tickets were only available through a raffle 🫠
Overall, my husband and I enjoyed it, spent a little too much money, and would absolutely do it again.
