Today, we proudly celebrated Publicity & Marketing Coordinator Kathy Kester and her 20 years of dedicated service to the City of Indianola. Kathy will retire on Friday, June 12, and we are grateful for the remarkable impact she has made on our community.

Kathy’s influence can be felt in every corner of Indianola thanks to her creative vision, steady leadership and constant support for colleagues and citizens alike. As Editor of the former Indianola Magazine, she helped shine a brighter light on the people, places and programs that make Indianola special. With a camera almost always in hand, she strengthened the way we tell our story by bringing care, intention and heart to every project she touched, whether in digital or print.

Within Culture & Recreation, Kathy’s work has shaped countless memories, connections and community moments over the past two decades. She leaves behind a legacy of service that will continue to inspire us for years to come.

Please join us in thanking Kathy for her incredible contributions and in wishing her all the best in her next chapter! 🎉👏
