ANOTHER new musical we can get behind!
CRP is thrilled to announce our next project and it's cast! We're back at Grove Haus for Paige Scott's LOBBY CHANNEL!
Brian and Ted are two radio show hosts who are the very definition of the 'every man.' Brian dreams of finding his way to radio big-time by becoming the traffic helicopter correspondent, while Ted seems to just dream about having something to dream about. In a shockingly exciting turn, Ted tells the radio world about his newest form of evening distraction: his television is picking up strange security camera footage from an apartment building...somewhere. There's no sound, no color, just the eerie footage, right there on Ted's living room set. Soon, lonely Ted finds a kindred spirit, only problem is, she's just on the 'lobby channel.'
CRP proudly premiere's Paige Scott's short*, 3-character dark-comedy musical, based on the original radio play, The Lobbyist, by Burt Covet. Lobby Channel follows one man's escape from the mundane and his transition into self-awareness all via a small screen and a black and white ‘lobby channel…’ This production has been made possible through the generous approval of Burt Covet, original creator of the story The Lobbyist, that premiered on NPR's This American Life. We are thrilled to have Mr. Covet's permission to turn this story into the exciting new musical production that will be unveiled at Fountain Square's beautiful Grove Haus, this May with this exuberant cast!
