Spotlight on Evie Dalton!

Evie is a 3rd year Descant. She also participated in Accents, Earth Club, Feminist Club, YDSA & Chinese Club.

Plans after graduation: Majoring in Political Science: Gender and Multicultural Politics at University of Cincinnati

Highlights: "  During a comp, I brought a large fluffy blanket and took a nap with 5 other people - it fit over all of us  . "

Final thoughts, "I’ve learned so much throughout my time with nc choirs and have loved that I’ve had more opportunities to continue to perform and dance with such an awesome group."

Spotlight on Ritticka Das!

Ritticka is a 1st year Descant. She also participated in Accents and senior class council.

Plans after graduation: I'm am planning on going to a 4 year college and pursuing a degree in Psychology

Highlights: " I loved every single competition, especially when Ruth and I were pranking people like Mr. Mcelroy. She would tap on their shoulder and would run the opposite way. It was very cute and so fun. "

Final thoughts, " I would like to thank Luca and his entire family (Laura, Craig, Ike, Nonna, Dyado, and Audrey) for being there, believing in me, and cheering me on at every single comp and just in general. I'm so thankful for them and wouldn't know how to do life without any of them, especially Luca. Love them with all my heart 🤍 "

Spotlight on Emily Barbus!

Emily is a 3rd year Descant. She's also participated in Accents, Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Youth Orchestra, Pantherquest, Science Olympiad, & Into the Woods pit

Plans after graduation: Going to either the University of Denver, IU, or St. Louis University to study either environmental science or environmental engineering.

Highlights: " Singing backstage at the Grand Ole Opry "

Final thoughts, " Choir is home for me!! "

Spotlight on Leila Gutierrez-Perez !

Leila is a 2nd year Descant. She's also participated in Allegros, Encore, King's Court & Northernaires, Girl Scouts & National Honors Society.

Plans after graduation:  I am Going to Indiana University to major in Social Work and minor in Spanish.

Highlights: " Last year during Turkey Lurkey time we played a game of telephone charades. My group was doing so bad it was hilarious. Me and Emily Cromer laughed so hard we peed our pants in the cafeteria that night.  "

Final thoughts, " To all the younger girlies, make the most of it. Have fun! live in every moment and enjoy it like it's the last. Shout out to Raunick and McElroy for making Descants my safe space and home. I know we give you guys a lot of crap but I have truly enjoyed every moment and I can't thank you enough!  "

Spotlight on Aby Vilchiz!

Aby is a 1st year Descant. She's also participated in Allegros & Accents, student council, secretary of Spanish Honors Society & church.

Plans after graduation: I plan to go to IUPUI and major in industrial organizational psychology and minor in marketing. I am staying close by to work in some internships with Indiana Latino institute.

Highlights: " One of my favorite choir memories was performing at the grand ole opry. "

Final thoughts, " I would like to thank everyone who made this year so memorable. Being in Descants has been the highlight of my senior year and has brought back my love of music. To all my Descants, “more I cannot wish you” than the best of luck and all the happiness in the future, I love you all."

Spotlight on Camille Thompson!

Camille is a 1st year Descant. She's also participated in Accents & King's Court, Into the Woods, Puffs, Mamma Mia, One Acts, Little Mermaid Tech, and the 25th Putnam County Spelling Bee

Plans after graduation: I’m going to Ball State for elementary education and homely traveling abroad to study

Highlights: " My favorite choir memory is when at Nationals we found out some of our rooms were connected, so we proceeded to barge in on each other to get snacks or play games."

Final thoughts, "You’ve never worked out until you’ve run laps while singing a very fast song."

Plans after graduation:   Go to trade school and become a medical assistant     

Highlights: "going to nashville for Nationals and Camille bringing a suitcase every competition"

Spotlight on Rachel Peterson!

Rachel is a 2nd year Descant. She's also participated in Accents, intered at vet clinics junior and senior year,!

Plans after graduation:  Purdue majoring in biology under the pre veterinary path    

Highlights: "Spending too much money at competitions "

Final thoughts, "  NC choirs has lifted me up so many times when I was in a bad mood. The girls in Descants will always put a smile on your face  "
