The older I get the more I’m able to see how much I need the create. I’ll start to get antsy or unreasonably angry, if I haven’t created in a few days. I’ve learned to identify it, but what about all those who don’t? I wish more people understood the creative life, and its benefits. If you’re not happy today, I’ll challenge you to go out and make something. It doesn’t have to be perfect or even good. It’s just a moment to get outside of your head. You’ll be so happy that you did.

When one of your ride or die’s asks you to officiate her wedding, say yes! Do it scared! Do it as a person uncomfortable with public speaking! Do it because it pushes you out of your comfort zone. As we all know, the magic of life stands right outside your comfort zone. Liz and Jacob, I wish you an incredible journey through life together. I wish you magic, adventure and always finding your way back home, like the river to the sea!

to a show I designed in the spring. I upcycled this jacket for the show. I took an existing dress with a floral embroidered lace bodice, I removed the sleeves, then cut the embroidery off to apply to the jacket. I love it so much!

If you’ve been here a while, you know that I will try just about anything that interests me. I spent 2019 learning a new craft each month. Just to remind myself that I am allowed to be bad at things. There are very few things that I’m naturally good at, but there are also very few things I couldn’t get better at if I practiced. This is your reminder that it’s ok to be bad at something. It’s ok to be seen trying and failing. We all start somewhere!!! What will you try today?
