Traci Lords was born on May 7, 1968, in Steubenville, Ohio. She became famous—and infamous—in the 1980s for her early career in adult films. However, her time in the industry was controversial because she started working under a fake identity at just 15 years old.

When her real age was revealed in 1986, she left adult films and moved into mainstream acting. Her first major role was in the 1988 sci-fi movie Not of This Earth. Despite her past, Lords worked hard to prove herself as a serious actress.

In the 1990s, she gained more success, especially with her role on the hit TV show Melrose Place in 1995. She also explored music, releasing albums and performing live.

By the 2000s, Lords had fully transformed her career. She wrote a memoir, Underneath It All (2003), sharing her life story. Today, she continues to act and remains an example of resilience, proving that people can change and succeed despite their past.
