My August performance schedule has officially wrapped up. It was a lighter month with only five shows, but all five were absolutely fantastic and so much fun!
I began the month at Rosewalk Assisted Living here in Indianapolis, and it may have been the most fun I’ve had performing a show in quite a while. Activity Director Tonya set everything up perfectly, and the residents were a wonderful audience. I had such a good time that I emailed her immediately afterward about returning with a different show in November. I’m already excited to see everyone again!
On August 13, I returned to the Wi******er Senior Center in Wabash, Indiana, with a 60-minute Magic of the Mind show celebrating local residents with August birthdays. Diane always does a terrific job preparing everything for me, and we had another great time together.
I also performed at two Glasswater Creek communities—my first visit to the Lafayette location and a return to Whitestown. Both communities have wonderful residents who make performing the show that much more enjoyable.
I ended the month this past Tuesday with a sold-out, 60-minute evening show at Osborne Trails—easily one of my top five favorite places to perform year after year. I brought out some classic mentalism, including several routines they had never seen me perform before. Some of these mysteries are more than 100 years old, yet they still hit just as hard today!
The evening was also bittersweet because Wendi Coates is no longer working at Osborne Trails. Wendi booked me year after year and has been a tremendous supporter and help throughout my career. I’m extremely grateful for everything she has done for me, and I’ll truly miss working with her and seeing her at the Osborne Trails events. I hope to see everyone again in December for their annual New Year’s dinner at the Wyndham.
The rest of August gave me time to practice several new routines that I plan to introduce during my October shows, including a spooky floating-table effect that I debuted this month at Glasswater Creek of Whitestown.
October will feature a fun mixture of private Halloween parties, senior-living communities, a children’s trick-or-treat event in Westfield, and a return to Harmony for its Fall Fest. I already have nearly 50 performances booked that month and look forward to adding more!
September will be considerably busier than August, with 14 shows currently scheduled—including a full National Assisted Living Week.
