Madhouse of Props

Madhouse of Props Cosplay Prop Commissions My name's Danielle. I am a cosplayer and props artisan. I have been cosplaying and going to conventions since 2011.

I have a degree in theatre design and technology with my focus being in props and scenic painting. I have made a handful of props for myself and made some others for theatre shows/plays. My boyfriend Ian has been cosplaying and going to conventions for quite some time longer than I have. He also has years of special effects makeup and haunted house experience. He went to school for radio broadcast

ing so he has experience with that along with filming as well. We can make just about any prop you want. We don't have much listed on our shop since we've just recently started so just send us a message on here or etsy of what you're wanting and we'll give you estimates. Our main specialty is hammers/mallets, however we have made a ring blade and I have made a sword. Now that we have had a few sales, we have upped our prices a bit because we now know how much it costs us in materials to make everything, and we have to be able to make a decent profit of our sales. We plan to possibly make cosplays (costumes) too but that will be later when we have some more experience. I have taken some classes but still don't have quite enough experience to consider myself confident enough with it just yet.

Our new, updated ultra thick business cards just arrived a little bit ago. These things are like credit cards cards, that's how sturdy they are. I'm liking this ultra thick style.

Got an order for another fairly basic Harley hammer. Going to try posting some pictures of recent things soon. Hoping things are going to keep picking up, one because it's summer and two because Halloween is only a few months away. Gen Con is just a little over a month away, so if you'd like anything then let us know. We were able to take the featherweight armor and molding and resin casting classes at Pop Con so hopefully once we've practiced more with that then we can add new things to our shop.

Got an order to make another Roman Torchwick cane. First one we'll have made for a customer. We're also gonna be making a hammer to give to Danny from Ninja S*x Party at Indy Pop Con. Indy Pop Con is just under two weeks away. If you would like anything from us then let us know. We could really use the extra money cause there are some classes we'd like to take at the con to help us with our prop making skills such as making wings, featherweight armor, and resin casting and molding.

Finally added pictures of the cane we made for Ian's Roman Torchwick cosplay. Also finally got another order for a Harley hammer. She wants the exact same one of the first one we made for someone. So at least it's simple and we should be able to get it done pretty quick, cause she needs it in a week.

Made this for Ian's Roman Torchwick cosplay from the anime RWBY. Needs a little touching up but nothing too major. Dad helped us with the maroon pieces on it, especially the face one cause we had never done anything like that before. But now we know how.

So a guy puchased this for his wife who was planning on cosplaying the Arkham Knight version of Harley but she wanted a hammer instead of a bat like in the game. He said she wanted a fake blood and distressed kind of look so we basically took that as battle damaged and/or used/worn. So we made it look like there were scratch marks and bullet holes and even put half of a batarang on to give it some battle damage, to make it look like she had used it to block one of Batman's batarangs. We didn't get a chance to try and do some kind of fake blood on it. But we also added lace to the handle cause the husband said he thought it'd be cool to have some on it to bring out the handle or to tell where the handle is so it doesn't blur and blend in with the hammer head basically and also cause the outfit she wears has lace on it. We got lucky to have found actual foam batarangs at a store instead of actually trying to make one ourselves out of foam.

Been wanting to make River's weapons to add to my cosplay and make it more recognizable. Because of money and time we had to make them out of foam. Plan on remaking them out of wood eventually.

Made this for my Arkham City Harley cosplay. All I had until then for the past few years was a mallet. I've been wanting to make one for a little while and finally did for Ohayocon.

And here's another thing. (A fu***ng pain in my ass weird-shaped thingy that took lots of tweaking/fixing.)
