Sight Hound Photography Sight Hound Photography by Ken Trulock Ken Trulock, Photographer. This is the world as I see it through photography.

This site showcases the photography of Ken Trulock, founder of Sight Hound Photography in conjunction with Maxwell Potter Arts. Any moment an artist tries to capture is a challenge. In a single moment in time, a photographer, like a painter, must convey movement, feeling, tension, emotion, and sometimes even the smell in the air. I hope that my work conveys a bit of the beauty and interest in the world that I see when I push the shutter button flooding the camera with light.

Our Story

I’ve come to believe the Earth is nothing more than a classroom constructed to nurture, teach and occupy us for the time we are on it. I am obsessed with it. The way light falls on an object creating shadow and texture or the movement of leaves as they fall; the rigidity of structure versus the soft damp of moss and lichen. Its easy enough to say this is the world as I see it but its a bit deeper than that, isn’t it? I want to capture not just light but mood; essence. I want to connect such that years from now long after I am dust, someone may look at my work and quietly beneath their breath utter, “Well isn’t that fascinating.”

Any moment an artist tries to capture is a challenge, not because of the equipment but in the effort to speak pictorially. A photographer, like a painter, must convey movement, feeling, tension, emotion, and sometimes even the smell in the air. I hope that my work conveys a bit of all of it at the moment I push the shutter button freezing forever in time a single moment.
