Getting ready for our Western show
on First Friday. I will be showing mostly acrylic and watercolor paintings; Andy will display vintage Navajo, Hopi and Zuni jewelry; we have a Two Gray Hills rug woven by Navajo artist Marie Lee, this wool is not dyed,
but from natural colored sheep wool. I spent a week on the Navajo Rez for a rug weaving workshop with Jennie Slick. We gathered desert plants and dyed wool, traveled to several trading posts and to the Crownpoint rug auction. We were in Hillerman country! Below you can see some of my inspiration books. Put on your Western wear, pull on those cowboy boots and come join us Friday night!

I have been curating music for our Southwest Heritage Arts show in June. Our background music will be from The Grand Canyon Suite, Carlos Nakai, themes from Western movies and of course, cowboy songs. Do you think people younger than fifty have even seen a cowboy movie? Can they even recognize Tumbling Tumbleweeds by Rex Allen or El Paso by Marty Robbins?
