ArtMix ArtMix (formerly VSA Indiana) ArtMix transforms the lives of people with disabilities through the creation of art.

We fulfill our mission through a series of arts programs led by 20+ professional Teaching Artists who provide programming in schools, community centers, hospitals, and on-site in our adaptive arts studios. As a statewide nonprofit, ArtMix partners with people and organizations around the state to provide local access to accessible arts. Ongoing partnerships are currently based in Columbus, Evansvi

lle, and Muncie. Collectively these programs serve more than 6,000 people annually. Our primary focus is people with disabilities, however, we take an inclusive approach to implement programs and include a variety of people with and without disabilities.

MEET THE TEACHING ARTISTS

Arts for All Fest is full of free art activities at every corner. Our Teaching Artists will be leading events throughout the studios and the courtyard all afternoon!

FREE ART ACTIVITIES:
- Practice Stamping Clay like our Artisans
- Create Clay Food Items
- Create Fridge Magnets
- Make a Mixed Media Burger
- Create Cook-Bookmarks
- Create food mosaics from model clay
- Dance outside in the courtyard
- Tie-Dye outside
- Coloring pages on the patio
- Watch ArtMix students work on a live painting

September First Friday was a dream! 💭✨

We had a wonderful night kicking off Kei'Anna n.s.a.'s debut of Mama, Build Your Nest in our gallery this past Friday evening. So many family members and friends stopped by to check out this incredible show!

Teaching Artist Spotlight: Meet Shelby! 💜

Shelby's ArtMix story started in 2023 as a volunteer through one of her college classes. Today, she's one of our Youth Class Teaching Artists and leads the Exploratory Clay class. Shelby also loves being one of our Teaching Artists at different outreach events throughout the community.

Her teaching style encourages artists to experiment, follow their ideas, and build self-confidence.

Shelby shared that accessible art means everyone has the opportunity to create, and everyone's creativity matters, which is what drew her to ArtMix in the first place.

We're so glad Shelby continues to share that belief with our artists and community! You can catch Shelby leading an art activity on September 19th at Arts for All Fest!

Community Classes are in full swing!

This past week, our Youth Exploratory Mixed Media celebrated the art of Yayoi Kusama. We are so thankful for our Teaching Artists who share their knowledge and reverence for great artists with our students.

Meanwhile, our Youth Exploratory Clay class was hard at work on designing mugs. Students practiced stamping and forming their pieces.
