The Indiana Arts Commission has announced that it has awarded $9,442 to the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra through the Arts Organization Support grant program. Arts Organization Support grants provide annual operating support for the ongoing artistic and administrative functions of eligible arts organizations.

On Sunday, we celebrated not only an incredible Season Finale, but also the final IYO performance for our graduating seniors.

These students have shared their talent, leadership, dedication, and love of music with our organization for several years, and we could not be more proud of all they have accomplished. Watching them take the stage one final time as IYO musicians was both joyful and emotional.

Thank you, seniors, for the countless rehearsals, concerts, memories, and impact you have made on the IYO family. We cannot wait to see all the amazing things ahead for each of you.

🎶 Celebrate Mother’s Day with the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra! 🎶
Join us on Sunday, May 10 at 5:00 PM at the beautiful Hilbert Circle Theatre for an unforgettable evening of music featuring all four IYO ensembles: Prelude, Concert, Philharmonic, and Symphony Orchestra.

This special concert will also showcase two outstanding soloists:

Way to go Finnan!!!

Keller Concerto Competition winner- Finnan White!

Finnan White, principal oboist of the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra since 2023, has played in
various ensembles, including the Indianapolis Youth Orchestra, the Wabash Valley Youth
Symphony, the Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra Side by Side Program, the Classical Hugs Festival Orchestra, and has previously won the Lorée Oboe competition at Miami Unversity in 2023 and 2024, and the Wabash Valley Youth Symphony Concerto Competition in 2024 playing the first movement of Mozart’s Oboe concerto.

Finnan has been playing for 7 years and is currently a senior at West Lafayette High
School. He studies locally with Jan Applegate and in Indianapolis with Pam Ajango of Butler
University. He plans to study oboe performance at university.
