We are super excited to make a return to SPIEL Essen in Germany this year, the most prestigious game convention of all the conventions of this Earth 😃

We will run demos of Don Quixote: The Ingenious Hidalgo and give a preview of our next game - Moby Dick: Wrath of the Seas!

Moby Dick is still in heavy development, capturing the experience of the book is proving as ineffable as hunting the great white whale.

We will have stock of Don Quixote with us, and a surprise:

we are thrilled to be partnering with Mo and Alice from to bring you Chroma Arcana and its Tyrant Hunt expansion 😎

I have seen Chroma Arcana being developed and playtested it. I enjoy it and its stunning art, and I was a backer of their campaign: it feels special to be able to bring it with us.

🌾 Meet Teresa Panza: The Wise and Witty Wife of Sancho! 🏡🗣️

Teresa Panza is Sancho’s grounded and sharp-witted wife, a woman with a kind heart, a strong will, and a knack for speaking in proverbs that reveal her practical wisdom. 💬✨

She doesn’t share Sancho’s dreams of squirely glory and questions his decision to chase after knightly adventures, fearing he may never return. Yet, despite her doubts, she stays strong, holding down the home and caring for their children while Sancho follows Don Quixote into the unknown.

A reminder that true strength sometimes stays behind, quietly holding everything together. 💛

🔥 Campfire Tales & Wine with Goatherds 🍷🐐🎶

One evening, Don Quixote and Sancho Panza find themselves sharing bread, wine, and stories with a group of goatherds in the hills of La Mancha.

🍇 Sancho wastes no time enjoying the wine (a little too much), while Don Quixote launches into a passionate speech about the mythical Golden Age a time when virtue reigned, and knights were sworn protectors of innocence and honor. 🛡️✨

Just as things settle down, a singing goatherd arrives. Despite Sancho’s tipsy protests, he’s urged to perform and soon the hills echo with a heartfelt love ballad under the stars. 🎵❤️

A moment of music, wine, and wild ideals, just another night on the road with Quixote.

🌟 Meet Rocinante: The Noble Steed of La Mancha! 🐴⚔️

Every great knight needs a worthy companion, and for Don Quixote, that honor goes to Rocinante.

Before setting off on his grand quest, Don Quixote spends four whole days contemplating the perfect name for his horse. After all, a knight as famous (in his own mind) as he is couldn’t ride just any horse, he needed one with a name fit for legend.

Once merely a worn-out farm horse, Rocinante is transformed in Quixote’s eyes into a valiant warhorse, ready to gallop into epic (and often imaginary) battles against giants, monsters, and windmills alike. 🏇

Despite his age and awkward gait, Rocinante carries his master with unshakable loyalty through every wild adventure.

Because sometimes, it’s not the armor or the lance, it’s the belief that turns an ordinary horse into a legend. 💫

📚 In one of the wildest scenes from Don Quixote, our noble-yet-deluded knight watches a puppet show... and suddenly springs into action, sword in hand! 🗡️

Seeing a large group of Moors holding some prisoners and hearing a lot of noise, doesn't matter if made of puppets or not, Don Quixote decides that he NEEDS to help people the fugitives

He stands up and shouts loudly:

"I will never allow unfairness to happen while I'm alive.
Stop! Evil crowd, do not follow or chase the fugitive, or you will have to fight me!"

In saying that, he draws his sword and jumps towards the puppet show.

He readily attacks the puppet Moors with great speed and fury, knocking over some, cutting off heads, and destroying others.

He even delivers such a powerful blow that would have cut off Master puppeteer 's head if he hadn't ducked and moved out of the way.

While others trying to stop him, Don Quixote becomes so convinced that the show is real that he attacks and destroys the entire set.

He will later explain that an evil enchanter bears responsibility for his actions because, as they made him believe that the puppets were real.

🌟 Meet Sancho Panza: The Loyal Squire of La Mancha! 🏇🗣️

Behind every great knight, there's a great squire—and no one plays the role better than Sancho Panza!

🤎 Who is he?
A humble farmer turned sidekick, Sancho Panza joins Don Quixote on his wild adventures, hoping for riches and a governorship of his own island (as promised by his master). Though skeptical of Don Quixote’s delusions, he sticks by his side through thick and thin.

😂 The Voice of Reason (and Comedy!)
While Don Quixote sees giants in windmills, Sancho sees… well, just windmills. With his witty proverbs and down-to-earth wisdom, he keeps his master somewhat grounded—though even he gets swept up in the madness at times!

💡 Why We Love Him
Sancho represents loyalty, practicality, and humor. He may not believe in knightly fantasies, but he believes in his friend—and that’s what makes him a hero in his own right.

A nobleman turned self-proclaimed knight, Don Quixote is a dreamer who sees adventure where others see the ordinary. Armed with an old suit of armor, a rusty lance, and a loyal squire—Sancho Panza—he sets off to revive chivalry and fight for justice!

🌀 Quixotic Adventures
From mistaking windmills for giants to battling imaginary foes, his wild imagination transforms reality into a grand epic. But is he foolish, or is he simply daring to dream in a world that has forgotten how?
