Born and raised in St. Thomas, Virgin Islands, Collens’ journey to the fashion spotlight started early. After moving to NYC at age 9, he joined the legendary Boys Choir of Harlem & studied at Music & Art High School, paving the way for a lifelong love of performance, fashion, & expression.

After raising a family & completing 30 years of service as a Corrections Captain & Union Delegate at Rikers Island, Collens made a powerful return to the fashion industry at age 54. Why? Because age, size, & stereotypes should never limit your dreams.
