Hi,
Fans of early-1970s Pink Floyd, Gentle Giant, Genesis (with Peter Gabriel), Camel, Caravan, Wishbone Ash and King Crimson will love seeing and hearing Nektar, and feel at home in that some vibe as these other bands.

Here are my Top Seven reasons that you’ll want to come to the show:
1. Nektar will be performing sets of their own music from 1969 through their latest release from last year. Other than Paul McCartney or The Rolling Stones, not many rock artists are still releasing new albums nearly 60 years after their first LP.
2. The band will also perform songs from King Crimson’s first album, which came out the same year as Nektar’s first album. Nektar’s guitarist and vocalist Ryche Chlanda played in another band that had its debut album produced by King Crimson’s Ian McDonald.
3. Nektar’s last-remaining founding member, bassist Derek “Mo” Moore, turned 80 earlier this year, and will be retiring from touring at the end of this year.
4. Mo can name-check many legendary bands with whom Nektar toured. I think you will have heard of a few of them:
• Pink Floyd
• Genesis
• Gentle Giant
• Caravan
• Mahavishnu Orchestra
• Frank Zappa
• Deep Purple
• Uriah Heep
• Renaissance
• Blue Oyster Cult
• Ginger Baker's Army
• Wishbone Ash
• Earth Wind and Fire
• Tina Turner
• Elvis Costello
• Asia
• Vanilla Fudge
• Eric Burdon
• The Bee Gees
• MC5
• Fleetwood Mac (the Peter Green/Jeremy Spencer era)
• Pretty Things
• Tangerine Dream
• Scorpions
• Colosseum
• Kraftwerk
• Status Quo
• Sparks
• Arthur Brown
• Family (with Syd Barrett)
• Country Joe McDonald (“Give me an F….”)
5. A 6:00pm showtime is perfect for a Sunday evening concert.
6. After the concert, the band will stay to sign autographs, pose for photos with you, and talk about music and more – at NO extra charge
7. Tickets are only $40 for general admission seats, online from AtTheIrving.com and at the door.
I hope to see you at the concert at the Irving Theater.
Thank you!

I am producing my next concert with Prog Rock legends Nektar, on Sunday August 2nd. The band has been rocking since the late 1960s, and although they never got the kind of radio play in the Indy area that they did in other parts of the country (and around the world), they are among the giants of the Prog genre. Fans of early-1970s Pink Floyd (before they started playing hockey arenas and football stadiums), Gentle Giant, Genesis (with Peter Gabriel), Camel, Caravan, Wishbone Ash and King Crimson will love seeing and hearing Nektar, and feel at home in that some vibe as these other bands.

The show will be at 6:00pm, which is perfect for a Sunday concert. I hope that you can make plans to attend.

Here are my Top Five reasons that you’ll want to come to the show:

Nektar’s guitarist and vocalist Ryche (pronounce Rich or Richie – he goes by either name) Chlanda (that’s a bit trickier) played in another band in the ‘70s that had its debut album produced by King Crimson’s Ian McDonald. So, a double bonus for Nektar and Crim fans.

3. Nektar’s last-remaining founding member, bassist Derek “Mo” Moore, turned 80 earlier this year, and will be retiring from touring at the end of this year. He’ll still record with the band but wants to spend more time at home with his wife and let the “youngsters” keep Nektar on the road.

4. Mo can name-check (and talk about) many legendary bands with whom they toured during the late-‘60s and ‘70s. I bet he could create a documentary (maybe he will) just talking about what it was like to spend time on the road with these artists. I think you will have heard of a few of them (wink wink):
• Pink Floyd
• Genesis
• Gentle Giant
• Caravan
• Mahavishnu Orchestra
• Frank Zappa
• Deep Purple
• Uriah Heep
• Renaissance
• Blue Oyster Cult
• Ginger Baker's Army
• Wishbone Ash
• Earth Wind and Fire
• Tina Turner
• Elvis Costello
• Asia
• Vanilla Fudge
• Eric Burdon
• The Bee Gees
• MC5
• Fleetwood Mac (the Peter Green/Jeremy Spencer era)
• Pretty Things
• Tangerine Dream
• Scorpions
• Colosseum
• Kraftwerk
• Status Quo
• Sparks
• Arthur Brown
• Family (with Syd Barrett)
• Country Joe McDonald (“Give me an F….”)

5. I would like to greet you at the ticket table at the concert and shake your hand. The pleasure, the privilege is mine (that’s from a different band).

Tickets are only $40 for general admission seats, online and at the door. You can buy tickets from my link
www.eventbrite.com/e/nektar-in-concert-august-2nd-tickets-1989964003904

After the concert, the band will stay to sign autographs, pose for photos with you, and talk about music and more – at NO extra charge. How often have you been to a concert and have THIS happen?

I’d really love to see you at the concert at the Irving Theater. Please tell a friend or ten about this, share this message, spread the word, spread the love.

Thank you!
