✨ CALL FOR ART: BECOMING
Who are you… and who are you yet to become?
The Magpie invites artists to explore the ever-shifting landscape of identity in our June exhibition, Becoming.
Identity is not fixed—it evolves, fractures, reforms, and surprises us. It’s shaped by memory, desire, culture, loss, growth, resistance, and imagination. Sometimes it’s something we claim. Sometimes it’s something we shed. Sometimes it’s something we’re still reaching toward.
This show is an invitation to examine the space between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming.
We welcome work that explores identity in all its forms—personal, political, physical, emotional, spiritual, and conceptual. Interpret the theme as broadly or as intimately as you wish.
What part of yourself are you outgrowing?
What are you becoming that would have surprised your younger self?
What have you had to unlearn to become who you are?
Who are you when no one is watching?
What identity are you still claiming—or resisting?
New or existing work is eligible.
