This season’s run of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow has come to an end, and what a ride it’s been! 🍂

A huge thank-you to our incredible creative team, dancers, collaborators, and everyone working behind the scenes who brought this world premiere to life. And to our audiences, thank you for joining us at McGowan Hall and sharing in the magic and thrills!

While we’re sad to say goodbye to Tarry Town for now, this is only the beginning…

After an incredible opening weekend, we’re back at McGowan Hall for four final performances of Joshua L. Peugh’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow! “🍂✨

From the haunting atmosphere and larger-than-life theatrical elements to the incredible dancing, we’ve loved watching audiences experience this world for the very first time. And now, we get to do it all one last weekend! 🖤

🎃 SLEEPY HOLLOW SPOTLIGHT: Joshua L. Peugh, Choreographer & Director 🐎

At the heart of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” is the incredible imagination of Joshua L. Peugh, the choreographer and director who transformed Washington Irving’s classic tale into the theatrical world you see onstage.

Joshua has created more than 60 commissioned works for companies across the country and beyond, including BalletX, Ballet Memphis, BODYTRAFFIC, Boston Dance Theater, Tulsa Ballet, Richmond Ballet, DanceWorks Chicago, and many more. He is the founder and former Artistic Director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, a Dance Magazine “25 to Watch” artist, and the recipient of the Grand Prize at the McCallum Theatre’s Choreography Festival.

His work blends humor, nostalgia, and idiosyncratic movement, creating dance that is both deeply artistic and accessible. For Sleepy Hollow, that distinctive voice takes us from the warmth and playfulness of village life into a world of superstition and fear. 🌙

We are so grateful to Joshua for dreaming BIG with us and creating a work that has already become such a special part of Dance Kaleidoscope history. 🖤

From the bustling streets of Tarrytown to the arrival of the Headless Horseman, it has been incredible to share this world premiere with our audiences.

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out to experience this spooky new work and celebrate the beginning of a new fall tradition in Indianapolis. But the story isn’t over yet, we hope you got your tickets to the already sold out final weekend!

🎃🐎 IT’S OPENING NIGHT!!!

One final look at “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” from our last studio run before we packed up and headed to McGowan Hall. 👀🌙

Last night, we had our first dress rehearsal in the space and… TRUST US. Seeing the scenic elements, lighting, costumes, music, and dancing finally come together is INSANE. This world we’ve been building for weeks has officially come to life, and we cannot WAIT for you to experience it. 🍂✨
