Floodcoats are sometimes a must-do in certain projects. It’s daunting at first, but using these tips will help make it a breeze.
1: Sand! It’s a must for a smooth coat. I use high-quality molds so the only time I need to is when they lost a bit of their shine & I can’t simply polish. I lightly sand my surface with 320 grit & wipe clean with rubbing alcohol.

2. Level. Even if you THINK your table is level, level the actual piece. Place the leveler on top of your resin piece & use popsicle sticks to adjust.

3. Use a good top coat resin. Not every resin does well as a Flood-coat. I prefer mine to have a medium viscosity between a top coat & deep pour resin.

Comment FLOODCOAT for the link to the resin I use
