AUDITION NOTICE
Greetings! Ben Asaykwee and the District Theatre are having auditions for WONDERS, a brand new holiday musical opening this December. Auditioners ages 6 to 106 are encouraged to join us to be a part of this wildly fun and musical adventure.

There are TWO ways to audition:

Audition in person!
August 25th and 26th at 6:30pm at the District Theatre, 627 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis
get a head start and fill out the online audition form available on patreon.

OR
- Send in an audition recording anytime before August 26th

The auditions for this show will be fun and relaxed and simply a chance for us to see who’s interested in being in the show and how best to cast each individual. In over TEN YEARS of presenting productions like these, we have always cast EVERY person who was interested. The purpose of this project is to explore, through the community, the power of original theatre and storytelling and what a positive impact it can have on audiences and participants.

WHERE: Auditions are at The District Theatre, 627 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis, IN

WHAT TO PREPARE:

All auditioners should prepare a short song (a holiday one would be great) to sing a ca****la (with no track or music). For this project, the funnier the better. Be creative! There are no wrong choices. Sing happy birthday, or jingle bells, or sing an aria from your favorite opera. Just let us see what you can do.

Also, please prepare a monologue, short story joke, or joke of any kind. You might also be asked to read from the script.

HOW LONG ARE AUDITIONS: We generally say to prepare to stay for an hour, but this completely depends on how many people show up to audition. The most you will stay is 2 hours. Save time and fill out this form before you come in!

REHEARSALS: There is an example rehearsal schedule available at patreon.com/benasaykwee. Conflicts are totally fine, a final schedule will be made using the cast conflicts.

PERFORMANCES: Performances begin on Dec. 4th and run until Dec. 21st (thurs-sun)

Wonders, the latest original work by Ben Asaykwee, opens December 5 and runs through December 21 at The District Theatre on Mass Ave.

Wonders is a joyful and imaginative new musical that breathes fresh life into the beloved tale of A Christmas Carol. Told through the eyes of the spirited guides who lead Scrooge to redemption, this magical adventure celebrates the enduring light of the holiday season. As vibrant, otherworldly beings journey through time and memory, they reignite hope and harmony in a world longing for connection.

This marks a bold new chapter for Asaykwee, blending his signature dark humor, inventive composition, and heartfelt storytelling to create a piece that is both daring and deeply
heartwarming.

“We’re creating something very special and I honestly can’t wait to share it, " says Asaykwee. “And I think it speaks volumes that I feel so strongly about the project that I’m fundraising, for the very first time, for something I’ve written."

For the first time ever, The District Theatre, Ben Asaykwee, and the Wonders creative team are launching a fundraising campaign to bring one of Asaykwee’s original productions to life—and they’re inviting the community to be part of the magic.

Wonders, meet members of the creative team, and learn how to contribute to this exciting world premiere.

Open ensemble auditions for Wonders will be held on August 25 and 26 at 6 PM at The District Theatre. Performers of all backgrounds and experience levels are encouraged to attend.

Dear friends,
I'd like to invite you to something very special to me. Rarely do i work this hard on something for only 'Ben Asaykwee' to perform... haha... but once I started I couldn't seem to stop myself. The JingleSprinkletimez Cabaret is wacky, funny, heartfelt, and SOOOOO me. It's your favorite holiday music + brand new stuff that has never seen the light of day.
And i'd love to share it with you.
Please join me for a night you will not forget at the District Theatre Indianapolis and celebrate this time of year with a party.
