👻🎨 Spooky season is almost here…and we have a BRAND NEW class to celebrate!

This October, Margaret Durbin is bringing something completely new to Create: Happy Little Ghosts: Mini Landscape Painting! 👻🍂

Join us during October Third Thursday in Broad Ripple Village for a playful evening of painting the tiniest landscapes—with a spooky little twist.

Thursday, October 15 • 6:30–8 PM

Margaret will guide you through creating your own miniature 2” x 3” landscape painting, from building your scene and experimenting with paint to adding the sweetest little ghost (or two!) as the finishing touch. Your tiny masterpiece will then be tucked into a gold frame ready to hang. ✨

Want to create a whole little ghostly collection? Additional frames can be added at checkout for $10 each!

And it’s all happening during Love Broad Ripple Broad Ripple Spooktacular 🎃—their October Third Thursday theme—so make a night of it! 🎉 Hooray!! The Fall 1 fun has begun!!! 🎉

We are SO excited to be back in the studio with all of awesome young artists!!! It’s the best feeling to get to see, share, create, and explore with each and every new and returning Create Art Studio family!!! We had an amazing summer here, but we’ve been super ready to get back into our fabulous fall routines with our children’s art classes!! 😍❤️🎨

Tiny friends and their special grownups started us on Monday and loved exploring the apple themed sensory tables and liquid watercolor paints before settling in for a snack and story. Next our Mini Makers marched themselves right into class and explored and created like they hadn’t missed a beat! Their condindence and excitement was contagious! And we ended our opening day with our stupendous Studio Explorers!! What a joy to have this awesome crew of artists jump into working with colorful still lifes, creating their own view finders to help decide their compositions, and sketching all they could see. We can’t wait to watch these young and fearless artists work on their own creations inspired by Cezanne’, Van Gogh, Magritte, and Britto! 🍎🍏

Our Art Explorers brought the studio to life on Tuesday and their imagination, excitement to try new types of art, and their love for color exploration had us smiling from ear to ear!

We LOVE getting to work alongside all of these truly wonderful young artists each week and it’s a joy to share our love for creating and exploring art with all of them!! ❤️ It’s good to be back! ❤️

We’re welcoming Shannon Catron of Petals & Pollen back to Create this fall with something completely new: Botanical Threads: Dried Flower Macramé Wall Hanging!

For this first-of-its-kind workshop at Create, you’ll start with a beautiful pre-made macramé ring and transform it into your own piece of botanical art using an abundant assortment of locally grown dried flowers from Petals & Pollen.

Think strawflower, statice, limonium, amaranthus, bearded poppies, gomphrena + all kinds of gorgeous colors and textures. Shannon will show you how to arrange and attach your blooms, while you get to play with color, composition, and plenty of flowers. 🌸

And the best part? No macramé experience—or knot tying—required! The wall hanging is ready to go, so you can jump straight into the flowers.

Your finished piece will be beautiful hanging in your own home or tucked away as a truly special handmade holiday gift. 🎁

☀️💙 A NEW kind of creativity is coming to Create! 💙☀️

We’re so excited to welcome back teaching artist Susie Ardelean for a brand-new offering at Create: Cyanotype: Sun-Powered Botanical Blueprints!

Sunday, August 23 | 11 AM–1 PM
Adults & Youth Ages 14+
✨ ONLY 10 SPOTS AVAILABLE!

If you’ve never experienced cyanotype before, you’re in for a treat. This beautiful photographic process uses sunlight to create rich Prussian blue images—and fun fact: that distinctive blue is actually where we get the word blueprint! 💙

During this hands-on workshop, Susie will guide you through the cyanotype process as you experiment with flat objects, shapes, textures, and transparency to create beautiful silhouettes and unexpected patterns. You’ll create three unique cyanotype prints on watercolor paper, each one transformed by light, shadow, and a little bit of sun-powered magic.

🌿 All supplies are provided!

And you’re welcome to bring interesting flat objects from home to experiment with. A few flowers from your garden, a favorite piece of lace, paper cutouts, transparencies, film negatives, or other objects with interesting shapes and textures can all create beautiful and completely unique results.

No previous art experience is needed—just bring your curiosity and a willingness to experiment!

☀️ One important note: Because the sun is part of the process, this class is weather permitting.
