Who is ready for Oktoberfest season?! 🥨🍻 We are!

Our dancers are busy gearing up for a season of fun performances and events. Check out where we will be performing and come join us for a great time!

- Indianapolis Oktoberfest 2024: Thursday Sept 5 - Saturday Sept 7
- New Palestine Lions Club Oktoberfest: Saturday Sept 14
- Athenaeum Indy's GermanFest : Saturday October 5
- Garfield Park Conservatory - Indy Parks and Recreation's Oktoberfest: Saturday October 12

We'll also be at the Indiana State Fair this upcoming Sunday August 18 at 1pm, performing with Dans Norden (Indianapolis' Scandinavian dance group)! It's the last day of the fair, so come check us out at the Dance Stage before another great fair season comes to a close.

We had a wonderful time dancing at German American Klub of Indianapolis' Frühlingsfest this past Saturday! 🌷🌼 Thanks to everyone who came out to the event, and an extra special thanks to every person who joined us out on the dance floor. It was a beautiful day and a perfect start to our year of performances!

We had an AMAZING time this weekend at GAK German American Klub of Indianapolis' !! 🇩🇪 A *HUGE* thanks to everyone who made the event possible, to the lovely audiences who enjoyed our performances, and to those who joined us out on the dance floor!

If you are interested in joining the fun, come to a practice! All abilities welcome and no dance experience required (most of our dancers didn't have any experience prior to joining). All you need is a good pair of shoes, a willingness to learn, and a desire to have fun! Remember: is for everyone!

We meet Wednesday evenings from 7pm-8:30pm at the GAK (except the 2nd Wednesday of each month). Join us at our next practice on 9/20. 😃 Reach out if you have any questions!

It's time for OKTOBERFEST! 🍻🥨🇩🇪 GAK German American Klub of Indianapolis' kicks off today and we're dancing every evening in the main pavilion. Check out our schedule below and join us for some great Oktoberfest festivities!

Thursday Sept 7 -- 7:30pm to 8pm
Friday Sept 8 -- 7:15pm to 7:45pm
Saturday Sept 9 -- 5:30pm to 6:15pm

Want to join in the fun? We always incorporate teaching dances into each of our sets! Saturday is our most teaching-heavy set, so if that's your jam, join us out on the dance floor!

We had a BLAST at the Indiana State Fair on Saturday! Performing alongside our friends in Dans Norden (Indianapolis' Scandinavian folk dance group), we filled an entire hour with dances and teaching. Thanks to everyone who came out!

Mark your calendars for the Brown County Christkindl Market on Saturday December 2! We'll perform a number of great German & Austrian folk dances before getting the audience out on the floor with us -- because folk dance is for everyone! Prepare for a fantastic performance by the die Fledermäuschen Tanzgruppe (the little bats' dance group) at the upcoming Christkindl Market on December 2, 2023. This group is an extension of the German American Klub of Indianapolis and has been promoting German and American culture, heritage, and traditions through their incredible European folk dances. From performing at festivals to schools to cultural events throughout Indiana, they will delight and entertain everyone who attends this year's market.

Just under two weeks ago, we joined our good friends at Oldenburg Freudenfest for a two performance sets at their annual event! We had an absolute BLAST sharing our German dances and teaching attendees of all ages! It was a fantastic event and a wonderful way to kickoff our upcoming busy performance season. 🇩🇪🥨🍻

"Folk dance is for everyone, so join us and have some fun!"

We are always looking for new members! Anyone can join and you don't need to have previous dance experience. Participation is free and folk dancing is great for the body, mind and spirit - you get all the benefits of fitness, coordination, and community involvement!
