This week the kids have started working on art inspired by artist Brandon Campbell (find him IG as brandcamp). We studied the vintage vibes, use of color and fun details. We also looked at photos of classic NYC architecture like Brooklyn’s famous brownstones for more inspiration.

A few more prints from Tuesday’s class!

The past 2 weeks have been all about printmaking with gelli pads and acrylic paint. We spent last week learning about the new tools and experimenting. This week the kids were more intentional with their prints and embellished them with oil pastels and sparkly bits. It had been so fun watching the kids reveal their prints!

I am so excited for the upcoming spring session! We are diving into the world of print making! We’ll be using these super cool gelli plates and acrylic paints to experiment and create colorful prints. I think the kids are going to love it! I have a few spots remaining in Monday’s class. More octopuses! These all turned out so great!

We wrapped up our octopus drawings this week! We focused on color for this project, and I encouraged kids to layer pastels to create more depth and interest. I love how they turned out! 🐙

Started off this session by painting the portholes for our octopus drawings. The kids painted and blended until they found the perfect rusty, under the sea, look. Next week we will work on our octopi drawings! 🐙
