Appearing for the first time at Dead Formats 7: is filmmaker Kasper Melted (Meltedhair). It’s hard to explain the creativity of an artist like Kasper; her work is a complex, colorful manipulation of visuals, language, sound and space that leave the viewer both confounded and captivated; questioning their own perception and often times, reality itself.

After acting in several films (and becoming a close collaborator with DF7 Guest of Honor Donald Farmer on films like HO**ER WITH A HACKSAW), Kasper shook up the shot-on-video world with a seminal directorial debut—BUSTED BABIES–in 2024. In 2025, she followed up with VICK AND TARSTAR’S SCARECROW FACTORY–a collaboration with Brewce Longo of Bloodsick Productions–which screened at Dead Formats 6 in 2025.

Kasper is appearing at DF7 in support of her newest film, GARCHASTER’S CORNBLADE, which has its world premiere this week at PhilaMOCA . At the kickoff party on Friday 8/28, we are screening Kasper’s biographical doc on Donald Farmer, DONALD FARMER’S WILD RIDE. $5 / 7pm at Holy Ground Hall

We are proud to welcome our first-ever LOCAL LEGEND guest filmmaker this year, Tom Barker for his first-ever convention appearance at Dead Formats 7: VHS Convention on Saturday 8/29/26. Tom's 1992 Indiana-made action film DEADLY DISCOVERY starring Walter Baziak and Kerol Rae has set VHS collecting communities on fire in 2026. Come meet the central Indiana man who decided to enter the direct-to-video arena amidst the golden era of action films! Car chases, explosions, stunt-flying, vehicular destruction via construction equipment and the cornfields of Greentown, IN make up just a few highlights of this literal barn-burner of a film.

In addition to DTV-era filmmaking at his Shelbyville IN-based company Tele-Cine Films, Tom Barker is still actively involved in Indiana film history, film preservation (including film/VHS digitization), and curates an expansive YouTube Channel (The Tom Barker Film Archives), which is dedicated to cataloging decades of central-Indiana history, culture and filmmaking.

DEAD FORMATS 7 WEEKEND starts on Friday 8/28 with our kickoff party/screening of Guest of Honor Donald Farmer’s SCEAM DREAM (1989), sponsored by ! Visual Vengeance just released a remaster of the cult heavy metal horror movie last month, which will be available at the convention.

Feat. Q&A with Donald Farmer; as well as a screening of Kasper Melted‘s documentary, DONALD FARMER’S WILD RIDE. A shorts/trailers program will also be screened. A bar and selection of vendors will also be set up for the evening!

The Friday night kickoff party will be followed by the seventh annual Dead Formats VHS Convention/Underground Film Swap at the same location the next day, Saturday Aug 29 (11am-6pm). Follow for more details.

SAT 8/29/26 the seventh annual DEAD FORMATS VHS & Underground Film Convention in Indianapolis.

The 2026 Guest of Honor needs no introduction—filmmaker, writer and publisher Donald Farmer —living legend of not only shot-on-video but the horror genre as a whole. Donald also wrote extensively for various publications and fanzines; and published the highly sought-after SPLATTER TIMES.

Guest filmmaker Kasper Meltedhair will also be joining DF7 . Her SOV masterpiece BUSTED BABIES turned the world upside down in 2024. In 2025 she cowrote Vick & Tarstar’s Scarecrow Factory with Brewce Longo of Blood Sick Productions.

For the first time ever, DF will feature a local legend—filmmaker Tom Barker (DEADLY DISCOVERY). Come meet the man whose film (shot in Shelbyville, IN) has recently set VHS collecting communities on fire.

Convention will held be at Holy Ground Hall (3317 E. 10th St Indianapolis 46201). Inquiries about vending will not be answered at this time—please check back in the following weeks for info on table openings.

Been some time since I posted anything on this page! Just a heads up. Draculina website is back up! It has been down for a couple months due to issues with the previous company I was using (still battling them over money). The new site is up... mostly. All the Draculina's are now up along with the movies and some of the other magazines. Will have everything up in the next week. Double checking supplies and making sure things are accurate before putting them back on line.

A lot of magazines are selling out so be sure to get what you want now before they are no longer available.

Offering up a small 3x4 inch sticker of the promo I designed for last years Dead Formats convention. It is the first art I have done in years and I was pretty happy with the results (made a great t-shirt). I have a very limited supply of these stickers left that you will not find anywhere else. Get one for FREE with any order over $20! Supplies are limited so get them while you can!
