Puppetry Arts Institute Our Mission: To preserve and promote puppetry through education and entertainment for all ages.

The Puppetry Arts Institute opened in Englewood (Independence, Mo) in 2001, establishing a facility that contains a museum, puppet theater and workshop area. A puppet research library, and puppet repair services are also available.

Friday, March 20th, 2026 is 3rd Friday Art Walk in Englewood from 6 - 9 pm. PAI will be doing puppet demonstrations and family puppet making activities. You can also see our new "Show Me Missouri" exhibit. We hope you will drop by and visit us.

Saturday, March 14th Papa and Jackie Wright from St. Louis are performing "Three Billy Goats Gruff Meet the Mysterious Creature" puppet show at 11 am and 2 pm. Papa brings his percussion instruments to share with the audience. Tickets are $5 per person (ages 2 and under admitted free). We hope to see you there.

On March 20, 2026 the PAI is celebrating the World Puppet Day during our 3rd Friday Art Walk in Englewood from 6 - 9 pm. Come by and see our new "Show Me Missouri" exhibit, puppet demonstrations, and participate in family activities. Admission is free.

Our March puppet shows will be performed by Papa and Jackie Wright from St. Louis. "The Three Billy Goats Gruff Meet the Mysterious Creature" has a unique twist on the familiar story, Also, Papa brings his percussion instruments and involves the audience in adding music to the show. Performances will be a 11 am and 2 pm on March 14, 2026.

During the years the PAI has displayed many styles and types of puppets. This Pinocchio display was done in 2012.
