Rest in peace Greg Kastli

A lot of tears last night and a loss for words. Truly a gentleman and when people think of Independence Motor Speedway he was one of the legends who came to mind. He was always humble and I hope that he realized when I said that he was my favorite that I was being sincere. From a young man who was able to witness him race in the last years at Tunis until today I was drawn to his personality. There truly was nobody like him. Always courteous and would call and apologize for disrupting my day when getting his call was truly special to me. I know that Greg had faith in God. I am hurt but knowing his relationship with the Lord was there will give me comfort. Yet I will still cry. God bless the family, friends, and communities surrounding the family of Greg Kastli.

We had hoped that the weather would change and we are sorry for waiting so long. We wanted to give it every chance to give us window to race. But we will cancel tonight's championship race. We did not want to have you drive and waste gas when everyone can see they are calling on rain the rest of the night. We are going to look for another date for a race and we will make a announcement soon. Thanks for your understanding. Congrats to all the point champions.

The races for the IMS are on as scheduled 6 pm sharp for racing. Plan on racing.

Saturday Aug. 27th will be Season Champinship at IMS. All classes. Last chance to see your favorite driver, last chance to get your favorite food. Regular night of racing.

We are going to have to cancel the races for tonight, we hoped to have sun and wind, but did not happen. We only half of the track and can't even get inside of track. We will run Season Championship next Saturday. Thanks for understanding and Justin and crew worked hard to try and get this in.

Noon update the races are still on, Justin was able to get on track and sheepsfoot and we are planning on racing tonight. Season Championship for all classes, we will update you if needed.
