I really don’t like having to post about things like this but I feel the need to make a few things clear…again.
First I wanna make sure anybody that has visited or will visit American National Tattoo knows that it is, was and always will be a safe place to get tattooed. I’d like to go into full detail about what I think about the whole thing but I don’t want to pile onto a terrible situation that multiple families are already dealing with right now.
Secondly, as we stated when allegations first came out it absolutely DID NOT happen at American National Tattoo. I know that the news has made that clear but I have had one or two people that thought that it did because of the previous partnership I had with the accused. He left A.N.T. roughly six months prior to the incident and opened his own shop. At which point we basically never spoke again outside of a few conversations ironing out details with the split.
Thirdly, I hate this for tattooing. It’s horrible in general but speaking as a tattooer it’s bad for all of us. Things like this are the reason we as tattooers get bad reputations. It makes me embarrassed to be categorized in the same field of work as people that do things like that. Anything you’ve given to tattooing (time, art, the tattoos themselves etc.) is basically worth nothing when you do s**t like that. Especially to a client. Not only have you hurt a client, yourself and family and friends but also coworkers and peers.
Also, I don’t know anything more than what everybody else knows and has seen on the news or social media. I don’t have any inside information on it or anything else to add besides my opinion on the whole thing.
The last thing I’d like to say is I hope that social media won’t go crazy and make a difficult situation even worse for his family. I hope they’re alright and can manage to get through this.
