Our final Bat Night of the year is coming up!

Join us Wednesday, September 9 for one last evening of bats, nighttime zoo adventures, and learning all about these incredible animals.

Bat experts from BYU-Idaho and Idaho National Laboratory will introduce you to Idaho’s bats, why they’re important, and how your zoo is helping protect natural habitat and expand what we know about local bats.

We’ll start with interactive activities and a short presentation in the William J. Maeck Education Center. Once the sun goes down, we’ll head out for a nighttime tour of the zoo and look for the bats that visit us each night to feed!

Wednesday, September 9 at 7–10 PM
$6 per person ages 3+ | Ages 2 and under are free
Advance registration is required

This is your last chance to join us for Bat Night in 2026, so don’t miss it!
Come see the zoo after dark and leave with a whole new appreciation for the bats flying overhead!

A tropical experience in eastern Idaho awaits at the brand-new Islands exhibit, NOW OPEN, at the Idaho Falls Zoo!

The Islands exhibit brings fascinating new animal species to the Idaho Falls Zoo, including the fossa, nene (Hawaiian goose), Madagascar hissing cockroaches, a rosy boa, and a ball python.

It also provides new and improved habitats for some of the Zoo’s existing animals: ring-tailed lemurs, collared lemurs, Omar the Aldabra tortoise, white-faced whistling ducks, and various African bird species.

New animals, improved habitats, playgrounds, interactives and a virtual reality experience all come together throughout the exhibit to help visitors better understand wildlife and our connection to the natural world.

The Islands exhibit was all made possible through the extraordinary generosity of many donors, contractors, community members and the hard work of Zoo and Parks & Recreation Staff.

Come see for yourself what makes Islands such an amazing, new experience at the Idaho Falls Zoo!
