☀️🦁🌻 Sun-Eater

I did this tattoo for my wonderful girlfriend Morgan and im obsessed with how it turned out!

When talking about what she wanted she knew she wanted my take on the alchemical symbol of the lion eating the sun. I saw alot of really cool art and learned alot while exploring this concept.

Im really glad she was willing to let me try it in my personal woodcut style. I love that this style looks so organic and involves so much texture!

This one was so fun to do but also so difficult. Huge thanks to ._.issues for doing this trade with me!

This tattoo was alot of fun to design, do you see the shape it had to fit inside of? Tatty had a bunch of other tattoos around the area so when designing it I had to be careful and creative about where I put the design.

I also had to freehand half the design, elbow placements arent for the weak lol

Baba Yaga Is a mythical figure in Slavic folklore that is representative of uncompromising and harsh change. She has little patience for those who cannot face the darkness in themselves. But if your brave she leads you through your own personal dark forest torwards the safety of the clearing on the otherside.

I was a bit intimidated by this project at first when my client brought the idea to me but im pretty happy with how our first session turned out!

I poured alot of effort and time into this one, spending about 6.5 hours drawing it and about 7hrs tattooing day of. Huge thanks to Remi NLN for giving me the opportunity to work on this 🙌

Im absolutely obsessed with the medieval etching/woodblock style. Its a really cool designing limitation and it looks so good longterm.
