Thanks to so many who have reached out in support of the Hyde Park Jazz Festival! The usual summer installment will not be happening this year as we are in need of a new venue and funding. I hope to have a small "mini-fest" this fall and a return to the outdoor event next year.

A million thanks again to all involved in the 7th Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival!
It was an amazing day of music and the hottest day of the summer! Looking towards the future and hoping for continued installments. Time will tell!

Thanks to all who participated in yesterday's 7th Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival and helped make the day a success. Zahili Gonzalez Zamora, Jason Palmer, Ron Reid, Bertram Lehmann, Alonso Blanco, Gianlorenzo Galiano, Eileen McAndrew Smith, Hyde Park Main Streets, Noah Preminger, Keala Kaumeheiwa, Lee Fish, Emily Patrick, Maggi Brown and so many more. It was a hot day indeed but Mother Nature was mostly cooperative. Thanks to those who braved the heat in the audience. That in itself was a Herculean feat.

Sending big kudos, thanks and love to Alonso Blanco, Bertram Lehmann and Keala Kaumeheiwa for their musical prowess and warmth.

It isn't often that I cry listening to beautiful music that I am involved with, but today in rehearsal I couldn't hold back tears of joy and humility by the sounds of the quartet. Please come tomorrow and hear Alonso Blanco's music. There are no words to describe the magic and beauty he conveys in his compositions and improvisations. I don't feel worthy of being a part of this group but I am so excited to be a small thread of the musical fabric we are weaving together.

Tomorrow is the big day!! 7th Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival. I am so excited to hear the music these wonderful bands will be sharing. Please come and support these incredibly hard working and world class players tomorrow, you'll be glad you did!

Alonso Blanco is my first international guest at the Annual Hyde Park Jazz Festival! I'm so excited to share his music and spirit with everyone this weekend. I met Alonso in Xalapa, Mexico many years ago and I was immediately taken by his gentle spirit, focus and incredibly beautiful and sensitive playing.

MIXCLA + 1 will be one of the featured performers and will open this years Hyde Park Jazz Festival! Founded by Cuban born pianist/composer Zahili Gonzalez Zamora, this terrific ensemble has been featured at the Montreal Jazz Festival and will be featured at the 59th Annual Monterey Jazz Festival! Come check them out!
